Black & Decker!
What stands nine feet tall, can seat a football team's offensive line, and—for those with a destructive bent—is touted as having the towing strength to pull down a building? The world's biggest production pickup truck, of course. Black & Decker wowed 100 of its top industrial customers by pulling back a curtain to reveal a newly purchased 2006 International CXT at a cocktail party at Markham Fair Grounds and Gourmet Cuisine was there to serve up a fantastic meal! Gourmet Cuisine has been honored to service the needs of the largest indoor agricultural show in Canada that constitutes the largest single premise, multi day catering event in Toronto. Over the years this event has given us great challenges as well as great joy and rewards. Discovery Channel Events Caveman Theme Staff dressed up in authentic garb with clubs and spears in their hands. The guests walked through a fabulous cave-walkway to 3 identical buffet stations with mini stuffed potatoes, turkey drumsticks and used cooked ribs as buffet garnish. Cat in the Hat The Discovery Channel stuff really outdid themselves with this event. You never saw so many happy kids in your life! It was the premier viewing of the film and all the characters were in attendance. Thing 1 and 2 on scooters, The cat in the hat posing for photos with the kids and the props around the cinema were fabulous. The show stealer was the "green eggs and ham" tortilla wraps- funny enough it was the adults who ate them, not the kids! Gourmet Cuisine Tastings Gourmet Cuisine prides itself on making sure the menu we have created for your event is exactly to your liking, and tastings are a perfect way to accomplish this. On this day, we are serving a future bride and groom with both sets of parents. They are anxious to try each menu item (view menu). Just as important to them are the rentals, chairs and linens, which we also had samples of. A few small items that we talked about were: napkin fold, timing between courses, known food allergies, and plate presentation with appropriate garnishes. We set up the full antipasto bar with our hot rocks display and a small version of what the grazing stations would look like on the wedding day. Yes it is true that preparing a meal for 6 guests in the comfort and luxury of our office is different from preparing it for 250 guests in an outdoor environment, but the menu flavour, spice level, texture, and color are the most important concerns to iron out at the tasting.
